The V8 Quattro. The car that launched Audi into the international arena of high end luxury performance. Although the V8 was first offered in Europe in the fall of 1988 as a 1989 model, the US didn’t see it hit the dealerships until a full year later. From December 1986 to March 1994 Audi produced 21,565 V8 Quattros worldwide. Of which 271 extended wheelbase versions were produced between May 1990 and March 1994. Audi equipped 16,648 of these with the 3.6L power plant between 1989 to 1994. Unfortunately, Audi only imported 3,868 Audi V8 Quattros to the US market. Of which, fewer than 550 have the larger displacement, 4.2L 276hp “ABH” motor found on all 1992-1994 US models. The rarest of the rare are the 5 Speeds (18 were imported in 1990, and 53 in 1991) which were coupled with the smaller 3.6L 240hp “PT” engine found on all 1990-1991 models. |

Paul Fernandes has done it again! A V8 owner himself, Paul understands the lament of V8 owners around the world. Due to the rarity of the V8 Quattro, no manufacturer in his right mind would cater to a market segment as small as ours. Fortunately, Paul is not in his right mind.
Kicked off in the summer of 2003, Paul has seen the V8 White Front Blinker project through to fruition. Originally from the United States, Paul has established his business, CAC, in Luxembourg, Europe. Although you can buy directly from him, the cost of shipping can be a bit prohibitive. Fortunately for the North American market, Bruce at Audi Connection has established a relationship with CAC to keep shipping costs low. Thanks Bruce!
Paul has hinted to me at his next big V8 project, and all I can say is WOW! I encourage you all to support Paul and his efforts through the purchase of the White Blinker; you are going to love what’s around the bend... |

Where have all the V8 Quattros gone? Due to their rarity, you hardly ever see other V8s driving around town. Have you ever wondered where they are concentrated in North America? Well thanks to our Frappr map, you can see exactly which cities are hording them all. Put your V8 Quattro on the map! |
